Perry's 1st tooth

Perry cut his first tooth this month! He was only a few days shy of 13 months when it arrived. I can't tell you how many times someone, over the age of 60, said "They say the longer they take to come in, the healthier they will be." Wives tales are always humorous! I have to say, I really loved having a toothless baby for the first year for various reasons. One thing's for sure...it made nursing less hazardous. We spent several months thinking he was about to cut a tooth because he had all the classic signs--chewing on fingers, drooling, fussy/uncomfortable, change in diapers, etc. We just kept waiting and waiting for it to show up. It wasn't until mid November that I finally felt the tooth and saw it coming. He still has just one tooth, bottom left incisor, but I know the others are on their way.

All Talk Thanksgiving 2010

I didn't take a single picture this Thanksgiving, but I didn't want that to keep me from documenting our holiday. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. It wouldn't have taken much to beat last year though--being in the hospital with some scary heath issues was NO fun. We were able to spend time with all of our parents, which is sometimes impossible with 4 sets. Wednesday night we had my dad's family over for dinner. Thursday we drove to Tyler, TX for lunch with my mom's family, and headed to Denton from there. We had a late Thanksgiving celebration with Alex's family. On Saturday, we all went to his Dad's for breakfast and had an afternoon lunch at his moms. Perry did great with all the hustle and bustle. Alex and I have so much to be thankful for...a gracious God, beautiful child, loving family and friends, good job, sweet church family, health and happiness!

Natchez in November

Natchez, Mississippi is one of my very favorite places! It is such a beautiful, historic southern city that also holds some of my best college memories. This past weekend we headed to Natchez to spend the weekend with some of our dearest friends, the Jacksons, who live in Baton Rouge. Lee's dad was very kind to hand over his house for the weekend. We had so much fun hanging out, walking the streets, eating, and shopping. It was the perfect weekend getaway!

Perry's favorite part of the weekend was playing with Ellie. Poor Ellie!

Perry enjoyed playing in the exersaucer.
I'm not gonna lie, it was nice having him confined!

Thanks Jacksons for making the weekend possible! Y'all were great hosts, as usual.

Halloween and Aunt Hellie

We had a very brief Halloween this year. After Perry's birthday party, we changed him into his costume and wheeled him to a few houses on my Dad's street. Perry enjoyed the ride and we had fun just watching our little monkey! I'm so glad that I borrowed a costume this year. Thank you, Chelsey!

I thought these were sweet pictures of Perry and Helen. These were taken right before she left for the airport. It's becoming a tradition to take a "goodbye" photo. We can't wait to see you again, Hellie!

Party Time!

I had so much fun planning Perry's 1st birthday parties. The polka dot idea stemmed from a shirt I saw on the internet. My sister-in-law, Katie, made the adorable invitations to match and it kind of took off from there :-) We decided to have two parties because we thought having everyone at once would be too overwhelming for Perry. I had a lot of family in town that weekend because we were also celebrating my grandmother's 85th birthday. It was a real treat to see my aunts, uncles, and cousins and we were honored they wanted to be a part of our ONEderful celebration. Perry was especially excited to have his Aunt Hellie and Jeremy from Colorado as well as Cheetah, Papou and the Beckers from Dallas. It was so great having everyone here! The Saturday party was at our house and the Sunday party was out at my Dad's.

All set up and ready to PARTY!
