James' Baptism

James was baptized on March 1, 2015. We give glory to God for this sweet child of the covenant!

Chelsey and I planned to have James and Nell baptized on the same day with a joint celebration afterwards. It was such a fun lunch with our families and a couple close friends.

SNOW!

Shreveport got some serious snow this year! We had a couple days of sleet/light snow, then a day of real snow. I certainly don't envy the mothers who have to regularly dress their kids for snowy weather. It's a lot more work and quite a mess too! My back door was surrounded by wet boots, hats, jackets, pants, and gloves. I didn't let that stop us from playing outside though.

Once the real snow came, we built a little snowman

Baby James got to experience his first snow! He looks excited, huh?
We made a couple batches of banana bread. Perry and Mills love to help, aka lick the spoons.

Sesame Street Live

Mae Mae gave Perry and Mills tickets to Sesame Street Live for Valentines Day. Perry had been before, but this was Mills' first time. It was just as much (if not more) fun than they were anticipating. The production was cute and they both got up out of their seats to dance and sing. Mills, who's normally too shy to dance, was movin' and groovin'. I love seeing them have so much fun! They both got to pick out a special souvenir too. It was all they could talk about for a couple days following the show.

James 8 Months

James has continued to be the sweetest baby I could ever dream of...it's safe to say he has me wrapped around his little, tiny, chubby finger. He is starting to get busier now, but thankfully isn't on the move yet. He is pushing up on his arms and rocking a little bit when on his tummy; and he can scoot around in circles or backwards. He loves blowing raspberries and "whispering". The whispering must of developed from imitating some of the sounds I make with him. He also likes holding my hands to clap or do patty cake. His very favorite thing right now is dancing. If he hears music, and especially if I'm singing to him, he'll rock his upper body side to side. It's so cute! Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" is his favorite song. James is always looking for his brothers...I think he's bored when they aren't around. He is finally eating solids, just started this month! He's had applesauce, pears, banana, avocado, sweet potato, peas and carrotts. Nursing is still going well too. James has brought so much love into our home. We ALL love him so much!
sitting up alone! I have to watch him pretty closely cause he'll still topple over

Funnies

I don't remember most of the cute and funny things the boys say and do, but here are a few things that have happened recently...
about Perry:
a text I sent Alex:

I was driving on the interstate and a car almost hit us. I screamed, "S*@T, car!" Perry immediately got real excited and asked, "Did you just see some bandits, Mom?!?" He is obsessed with bank robbers and bad guys!
Alex and Perry were wrestling and just as Perry was about to jump on Alex he said, "Oh yeah! Your days are over, darlin'!"
Perry was trying to say something but couldn't come up with the words. He stopped talking and said "Come on brain, why won't you work?"

about Mills:
I love how Mills will say, "just one times" or "all the times".
Alex and the boys were playing a "trick" on me and telling me they ate all the food, leaving me no dinner. I was pretending to be fooled and was asking each of them over and over if it was really true. They all stood by their story. Then I started fake boohooing and Mills immediately got super serious and concerned and said, "There's more! There's more food!" Sweet boy can't stand to see someone upset...while Perry loves to make others suffer. Ha!
Mills lifts up his shirt and looks at his belly to determine if he's full/had enough to eat. He'll say "See! My tummy is biiiiiigggg!"

James:
James just makes himself laugh for no reason and at the most random times. It's really quite funny.

James 6 and 7 Months

On January 1st, 2015 James turned 6 months old. What a way to celebrate the New Year. We are so thankful to have our 3rd boy with us and are looking forward to a wonderful year with many special milestones for James. At 6/7 months old, he is just as happy, adorable, and fun as ever. James is wanting to sit up alone, but not quite there. He is rolling around a lot more and loves grabbing his toes. We've been struggling to figure out how he wants to sleep. He still loves being swaddled, but started breaking out of his double swaddle! After trying to have him sleep unswaddled for several days (and him being so sleep deprived), I decided to come up with something new. We are currently swaddling his arms and then putting a sleep suit over the swaddle...it's crazy! I'll be glad when he decides he wants to sleep on his tummy. James is getting more vocal with his squeals and cries (although he hardly ever cries). He'll have to continue to be loud if he wants to be heard in this household. He loves playing peek-a-boo, splashing in the bath, watching his big brothers, being outside, and teething on everything. He's not a fan of solid food...I'm continuing to try though. Everyone seems to love and comment on James' hair: 1. that is sticks straight up, and 2. that it is blonde. James still has blue eyes, and I'm thinking they may stay that way. At his 6.5 month check up, James weighed 16 lbs, 4 oz and was 27 inches.

Christmas 2014

Christmas morning at our house:
Perry (5), Mills (3), James (5 months)
Perry and Mills were excited about their transformers and play castle

Everyone got silly string in their stocking. Perry couldn't wait to go outside and attack Daddy!
Then it was on to my mom's house:

 Mae Mae and her boys
The next day, we went to Denton:
hanging out around Cheetah's Christmas tree
I regret that I don't have pictures with most of our families. We did, however, get to see everyone (except the Walters) in the days surrounding Christmas. Perry, Mills and James were such troopers with our busy schedule. We participated in Christmas parties, church service, and several visits with family. It was a very sweet and pleasurable time!
